Q:The Presidential election of the Palestinian National Authority took place smoothly on January 9th. What's your comment on this?

A: China is happy to note that the election has taken place smoothly. We respect Palestinian people's choice and hope the newly elected Palestinian leader will lead Palestinian people to accomplish the goal of setting up their own country at an early date. China will support Palestinian people's efforts in resuming their legitimate national rights.
